Original Article: Beginning Or End Of Holiday Shopping?

WHITEFISH BAY – Head to any local mall today and chances are it was packed.

But despite the big crowds at places like Kohl’s, economists are seeing some red flags this Black Friday:   Financial forecasters predict spending after Thanksgiving may trail off.

But nearly every shopper we spoke with at Bayshore Town Center disagreed.

Said one shopper: “Like me personally, I think I’ll be shopping until Christmas Eve.”

Another shopper said: “Prices are still going to be pretty competitive after this, and, you know, I still think everybody’s going to still be going out and looking for the deals and stores will still offer them.”

Retailers are hoping this holiday season will help pull the nation out of this great recession especially since they’ve slashed prices.

The question is: Will those prices continue to drop as weeks go by?

One shopper said: “I think shopkeepers should feel good about people like me. I will continue shopping and then i will go out Dec. 26th.”
