MILWAUKEE – Milwaukee County Supervisors have voted to override a number of County Executive Scott Walker’s vetoes, including one that would have instituted parking meters along the lakefront.
That was one of 21 Walker vetoes that the board chose to override among the 34 vetoed items.
Among others, the security staff for the Milwaukee County Courthouse will not be outsourced, and while the property tax levy will rise by more than 2%, property taxes will go down because of new development.
The board also restored funding to turn two county pools into indoor water parks and reinstated 39 park worker jobs.
