Senator Russ Feingold (D-Wisconsin) has made a change up on the health care bill which had a 60-40 test vote pass in the Senate.
Feingold had said he would only approve reform if it included a public option. The current bill does not.
Senator Feingold released a statement saying that was a tough pill to swallow, but he’s backing the bill anyway.
Feingold said the cost of inaction is too high and he will continue to push lawmakers drafting the final compromise version of healthcare reform, to put the public option back into the bill.
