I think they’ll do a better job (than last meeting) this time by more quick slants and more runs.  Ahman Green should be active, and will help Rodgers with relieving pressure with screen passes and chipping Allen.

Dom Capers won’t get shut down twice.
I don’t think they can bottle up Adrian Peterson like the last time, but it’s all but certain the defense will get at least some pressure on Brett Favre this time around.

Keep Jared Allen out of the backfield. 
The Packers found a rhythm in the first quarter against Detroit and throughout against Cleveland because of better pass protection.  The Packers must contain Allen by protecting Aaron Rodgers and running the ball effectively.

Pressure Favre.
Last week was just more proof that while Favre still has the arm, he no longer has the feet.  Pittsburgh sacked Favre four times and pressured him into two turnovers.  Where was the pass rush last time?  To beat Favre, you need to get him on the run.

Green Bay 23,

Minnesota 16.
Minnesota does not appear to be as stout against the run as in previous seasons.  Look for the Packers to open the game on the ground like they did last week against Cleveland.

Protect the QB. 
Even if Mark Tauscher plays, the Packers will have a tough time protecting the QB. They need to run quick routes and play action passes or Rodgers will have problems.

Don’t forget Brett. 
It’s no secret they have to stop Adrian Peterson, but they can’t cheat on the run or Favre’s quick release can kill you just like it did in the Metrodome.

Because you can’t shut down Adrian Peterson twice in one season.

Left tackle/O-line.
I think Jared Allen will get a couple sacks, but will be held in check much better than last time.  The Vikings’ defense is not as fast away from turf. If Rodgers has time to throw, he’ll likely be picking on Winfield’s replacement if he indeed is out.

Al Harris/Aaron Kampman. 
Both play a big role in this game.  Favre will throw to Harris’ side a lot.  Kampman deals with the two-headed monster, rushing Favre and stopping Peterson.

Lambeau gives them an edge, plus I think the Packers are slightly better than last time around, and the Vikings a shade less powerful.

Make them play in 3rd and long.
The Packers’ defense is healthier that it was in the first matchup, but that doesn’t mean the Packers will get to Favre who gets rid of the ball very quickly and relies on timing with his receivers.  The Packers need to force the Vikings into predictable down and distance play calling.

I always predict these teams to split their home and home series.  With this, I think the Packers come out on top in another nail biter.

Keep Aaron Rodgers upright.
Watch TJ Lang and how he works against Jared Allen.  If he falters at all , look for Clifton to get the nod.  On the other end, if Barbre plays inconsistently, Tauscher will get some time.

The secondary. 
With Atari Bigby back in the efensive backfield, the communication issues that plagued them in the first matchup won’t be an issue.  Look for the corners to play up and not allow Favre to get off the quick passes.  Also, watch Kampman.  I think he’s due for a big game.  There will be more blitzing in this game as well.

What’s old is new – and important – again.
Chad Clifton.  Mark Tauscher.  Ahman Green.  These old-school Packers should see some playing time, and must help in the most critical aspect – keeping Aaron Rodgers’ shirt free from grass stains.

Make Favre feel pressure after the kickoff.
The last time these teams met, Brett Favre says he felt more pre-game pressure than he ever had in his life. Then he felt none during the game because the Packers’ pass rush did nothing. Hit Favre. Pressure him.Sack him.  He is turnover prone when pressured.  If Adrian Peterson kills you, accept it. You’ve let him run wild and beaten the Vikings in the past.

Green Bay 21. 
What in the last three weeks has proved that the Packers have made enough dramatic improvements in the areas that killed them the last matchup?  Yeah, I know, they killed Detroit and Cleveland, but that’s two Big Ten-caliber teams, not the caliber of competition that the Vikings bring.  Clifton and Tauscher have huge hearts, but injured bodies.  Whether on Lambeau tundra or Humpty Dump turf, Jared Allen and company will probably still own that o-line, and the Packers’ pass rush has made almost NO improvement.  They’re not Pittsburgh.  I hope I’m wrong, but I’m scared of this one.
