WAUWATOSA – It’s a scene repeated across the country this morning.
In Wauwatosa at the Target at 124th and Capitol there were already hundreds of people in line by 4 this morning. The store didn’t open until 5. The first person in line got to the store at 12:30 overnight.
It appears to have been very orderly as the store opened promptly at 5 this morning.
Many of the early birds were looking for deals on electronics. Target had savings on an LCD TV that saved people about $180.
Others say they were looking for cheap DVDs.
One guy said he didn’t want to be there, but he was standing out in the cold to hold a spot in line for his wife while she stayed warm in the car.
At other stores around the area, people lined up early. According to JSOnline, police were called to Toys ‘R Us stores in Brookfield and on 27th street in Milwaukee after large crowds showed up. At the Brookfield store, police were trying to form two lines when people formed their own third line, resulting in some people getting a better spot in line.
