A few weeks ago, after being met by a huge and angry crowd of taxpayers, the Wauwatosa Common Council backed off of a plan to approve public employee union contracts until the Budget Repair Law is hashed out in court. But in a dirty, underhanded move, they came back last night and passed the contract extensions.
There are serious questions of the legality of the actions of the board members, and it seems clear to me that an illegal quorum of at least 6 of the aldermen have been working on this behind the scenes. Mark Belling has been all over this since last week, and has documentation showing possible illegal actions. This fight isn’t over yet.
Taxpayers of ‘Tosa, you now know that your elected representatives aren’t looking after your interests, they are shilling for the public employee unions, and if you look into the backgrounds of each member that voted for these extensions, I’ll bet you find some interesting conflicts of interest.
