Governor Scott Walker’s office is now claiming that they appointed Renee Miller to head up Marinette County’s Registrer of Deeds office, because ONE of the three candidates that were more qualified than Miller had a bankruptcy in their past:

Before the appointment, a background check was performed on Chasensky, but not Miller or those who were appointed as registers of deeds in two other counties around the same time. Werwie said Wednesday the governor was changing his policy and would now perform background checks before making all appointments.

It is clear that the governor’s office dug up dirt on Becky Chasensky as a pretense, so they would have cover for appointing a crony.

The problem, though, is that there were still two OTHER candidates that were more qualified than Miller:

Ten people applied for the job. Besides Chasensky, two others have years of experience working with such records – Tammy Kasal, a deputy register of deeds in Marinette County, and Thomas Faller, a deputy register of deeds in nearby Menominee County, Mich.

Also, keep in mind, that the Gov. Office made this appointment as they were in the “eye of the storm” over hiring the unqualified lobbyist’s son to an 84K job:  Obviously, they dug up dirt on Chasensky for cover of their bogus appointment.
