Ordinarily, I would suggest that Glenn Grothman is crazy for suggesting that the DNR focus on hiring middle-aged workers because the youngsters don’t get it. Those middle-aged workers usually want more money and may not be as eager to prove themselves as a young twenty-something.

But as we learned in Sunday’s MJS, those rules don’t apply at Cathy Stepp’s DNR, where twenty-something college dropout and repeat drunk driver Brian Deschane makes $80k+ a year to hold the position of “My daddy is a lobbyist and friends with Cathy Stepp.”

Oh, I’m sorry. That’s not his actual title? Could’ve fooled me.

The best part is that Jerry said he didn’t get Brian the job. Which if true, just goes to show how f@#$ed up the Walker administration is. Jerry didn’t even have to ask. The Walker administration just KNEW to hire Jerry’s son because it would serve them well later.

At this point, lobbyists and politicians don’t even have to ask for favors – the governor’s office just hands them out like parade candy. First Randy Hopper’s walking sex toy, now the drunkard son of a fat-cat lobbyist. At this rate, Walker will have no problem fulfilling his jobs promise, provided he can find 249,998 other jobs to hand out as rewards to those who help him.

So hear, hear, Glenn. Let’s start replacing the young, undertalented staff that Cathy Stepp is hiring, and let’s begin with the patronage hires. Surely Brian won’t have any problem pulling in his current salary in the private sector.
